Tried & True Methods to Making Extra Money!
It is truly overwhelming HOW MUCH information is on the internet about "Making Money" from home! I want to share with you all the ways I have actually made money over the years! I will share with you the results & my "two cents" for each one!
What this article is NOT going to do to you!
I am NOT going to hook you into all of these ways to make money! I am sharing IDEAS to help you get your mind thinking! So I will list these out one by one with some commentary!
So let's DIVE RIGHT IN.....
Just bear with me here! Legitimate MLM companies are NOT a SCAM. It boils me when people automatically think that they all are. Are there SCAMS out there? YES! Legitimate companies that provide a great plan & quality products are life-changing for many! The cold hard truth is that many of us just don't have the TIME, MONEY, PATIENCE, resilience, family support, or SKILLS to make them successful. Sometimes we also lack the confidence or right timing, or simply the FOCUS to stay on track. The #1 thing I seem to find - is that we go into them thinking they will "work" quicker or easier. (often forgetting they require "real work")
I have sold Candles, Essential Oils, Cosmetics, and Home Decor. I am probably forgetting several. I made decent money in the first 3. The latter failed because of the timing in my life, the prices of the products, etc. I can say that at least 3 companies really helped me during hard times! Ok, #rantover
SELLING ON EBAY:
- Sell Unwanted Items from around the home
- Visit Garage Sales & Estate Sales - Buy Low, Sell Higher
- Buy Goods at Wholesale Costs & Sell Online
- Buy Clearance & Discontinued Items & Resale Online
Of course, Ebay is NOT the only source! There are many marketplaces out there - including Facebook Marketplace. Ebay is well-known Worldwide. It has a massive REACH. For items that are bulky or break easily, I post these locally rather than on Ebay.
Blogging is HUGE. There are other terms - but basically sharing info like I am here! Writing about what you know! Sharing information!
Incorporating Affiliate links into your marketing can massively (over time & traffic) provide you with a nice income! It takes TIME to set up and TIME to grow.
Let me share something kind of funny! Many years ago I started a BLOG on Google for FREE. I had NO clue what I was doing. I managed to plug in some Google Analytics & gave permission for them to run ads on my Blog. I started off full steam writing. I maybe did 15-20 posts. Well, a couple of years later I discovered it still existed. It had made money!!! OMG! (Not a lot of money, but wow!) I had not updated the account with my bank info. What a nice surprise! Now think if I had actually put some real EFFORT into it where I would be!!
MYSTERY SHOPPING- Paid to Eat & Shop:
- Shop/Eat & report back what the experience was like!
- Audit products, prices & environment
- Stock products like cosmetics - get paid by job or hour.
- Hand out samples to customers inside a store!
Mystery Shopping is a real thing & can be a Full Time Job! It's easy once you get the hang of it! I will be offering a Workshop on this very topic - Stay Tuned!
Not only can you get paid to go to the movies, eat out & buy stuff - but you can also get involved with auditing products, store conditions, etc. You can also sign up to Stock Products on the shelf (not undercover for this part). I can teach you HOW TO get involved. You don't need a paid membership with these companies to know how to do it. I will teach you how to find legitimate jobs & how to know the difference!
ONLINE SURVEYS & PAID-TO-READ EMAILS:
This is another legit way, but I will say it's not going to make you rich for sure! If you have "extra" time, it may be worth it to let it build up over time. Honestly, I really recommend you save your time - and use that in other ways to make FAR more money. Our time is precious! You are worth more than pennies!
TEACH OTHERS ONLINE OR IN PERSON:
We all have skills. We don't always even realize just how much we know. There is ALWAYS someone out there that knows less than you on some topics. (and some that know more) Comparison will kill your joy! You do YOU! Here are some ways you can teach others & get paid to share what you know!
- YouTube Videos (get paid for the traffic you generate)
- Many Teaching Membership Websites you can join!
- In-Person Teaching! (libraries, colleges, evening classes)
- One-on-One Teaching - including Coaching!
DIGITAL DESIGNS:
You can create Printables, Organizers, Ebooks, and various other digital products! Perhaps you like designing T-Shirts! You can use a Print-On-Demand site! Many integrate with other websites so you never have to carry inventory at home!
AN ONLINE BOUTIQUE:
Find or make Unique items to sell online! Create your own online store. This can be done using only Social Media or an online "store" website like Shopify! (I could do another whole article just on this alone!)
Love cooking or baking? It doesn't have to even be about how it looks - but HOW it tastes! Check out your local food laws and see if your specialties fall within the Allowed Foods! Here are some Food Businesses you MIGHT be able to start:
- Cakes - Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary
- Cookies! (If you do, I'll volunteer as a taste tester!)
- Pasties & Pies
- Canned Foods (jams, jellies, pickles)
- Pet Treats
- Freeze-Dried Foods (Click Here for More Info)
With all things, work is required. You'll typically have to invest MONEY OR TIME - and usually BOTH. Most of the ways listed above can be started without investing! Some may have some start-up costs but well worth it! We started our Freeze-Dry Business in November 2020 but made enough in a month and a half to pay back the cost of the machine! I figured it would take much longer. It was an investment that has paid off & replaced my Full-Time income by working ONLY Part-Time!
